Crucial Fine Print (The Notes)
Before you start filling out the paperwork, make sure you meet the baseline criteria:
- Citizenship: You must be a South African citizen.
- Strict Selection: Only applications for the specific fields listed above will be considered.
- No Late Comers: The final closing date for all applications is 30 September 2026. Absolutely no late applications will be reviewed.
- Budget Dependent: The DoA reserves the right to determine the total number of bursaries awarded based on its available budget.
- Awaiting Results/Acceptance? You can still apply! If you don’t have your university acceptance letter or final matric results yet, submit your application anyway. However, you must email these outstanding documents within three (3) days of the Grade 12 results release in January 2027.
- Communication: The department will only contact successful applicants. If you haven’t heard from them within 14 days after the Grade 12 results are released and the National Bursary Committee finalises selection, consider your application unsuccessful.
