Land Bank, working with the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture and the Inxuba Yethemba Municipality, hosted a Farmer’s Day at Cradock Hall. The event brought local farmers, partners and stakeholders together to share information that supports stronger farming operations and better access to finance.
Zilindile Makapela, Land Bank Provincial Head for the Eastern Cape, explained the Bank’s products and services. He noted that these offerings help smallholder farmers take part in the sector in a meaningful way. He said the goal is to support growth, create jobs and reduce poverty.
Marvin Lee Alexander, Provincial Manager at Land Bank Insurance, spoke about the importance of insurance. He explained that farmers face economic, social and climate risks. He said insurance helps protect farmers from losses that can threaten their operations.
The event gave farmers clear guidance on how to use financial tools to strengthen their businesses. Discussions focused on access to credit, risk management and the steps needed to build stable farming enterprises.
Land Bank reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive agricultural growth. The institution said it will continue to provide information, financial support and practical tools that help farmers build sustainable operations.
