Free State Youth Dialogue Empowers Young Farmers Through Leadership, Funding Awareness and Moral Regeneration

The Free State Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs (DARDEA), through its Special Programmes Unit under the Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM), hosted an empowering youth dialogue on 10 July at Kgolokoeng Community Hall near Harrismith. The event brought together young people from farming communities to discuss some of the most pressing challenges affecting rural youth, including substance abuse, youth development and access to funding opportunities. Held in the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality within the Thabo Mofutsanyana District, the dialogue provided an important platform for engagement, education and collaboration. By focusing on both social and economic issues, the department reinforced its commitment to building stronger rural communities through youth empowerment.
