The MEC of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms. Nakedi Grace Kekana, together with Head of Department Ms. Mpho Abigail Mashamba, are leading a critical Stakeholder Engagement session aimed at strengthening relationships between government, farmers, and agricultural partners. The initiative is designed to bring government closer to the farming community, creating a platform for open dialogue on the future of agriculture in the province. By engaging directly with stakeholders, the department seeks to identify challenges, opportunities, and strategies to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.

The engagement sessions focus on supporting small-scale farmers, improving access to resources, and addressing issues that affect day-to-day farming operations. Discussions include crop production, livestock management, market access, and the adoption of modern agricultural practices to improve efficiency and yield. Officials also emphasize the importance of collaboration between government agencies, cooperatives, and private sector partners to create a stronger and more resilient agricultural sector.

Active participation from farmers and stakeholders is considered essential to unlocking growth, ensuring food security, and promoting sustainable agricultural development across the province. The session reinforces the department’s commitment to providing practical solutions, sharing expertise, and developing policies that directly benefit farming communities. By fostering continuous engagement, MEC Kekana and HOD Mashamba aim to build a more informed, empowered, and future-ready agricultural sector in Limpopo.
