Hon. MEC Thembeni KaMadlopha-Mthethwa is currently distributing farming production inputs to communities across the Ethekwini Metro. The initiative aims to support local farmers, enhance food production, and strengthen sustainable agricultural practices in the region.

The handover includes essential resources such as seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs that are critical for crop production. Farmers receiving the support are expected to improve planting efficiency, boost yields, and enhance overall farm productivity.

MEC KaMadlopha-Mthethwa emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering farmers with the tools and knowledge needed for long-term agricultural success. She encouraged recipients to apply the inputs effectively and to seek guidance from agricultural extension officers for best farming practices.

The program forms part of broader efforts to strengthen local food security, create income opportunities for farming households, and support the growth of smallholder and emerging farmers within the metro.

Farmers who have not yet received inputs are urged to contact their local agricultural offices to register for upcoming distribution phases and access advisory services.
