#ClimateSmartAgricultureDialogue Advances Resilience and Innovation in South African Farming

The #ClimateSmartAgricultureDialogue took place on 30-31 October 2025 in Pilanesberg, North West, bringing together farmers, policymakers, industry experts, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for building a climate-resilient agricultural sector. The two-day event focused on sharing knowledge, practical solutions, and innovative approaches to safeguard agricultural production, protect livelihoods, and ensure food security across South Africa.

Day 1 centered on provincial climate change interventions and climate-smart agriculture frameworks. Experts shared strategies for adaptation, long-term climate forecasting, and insurance solutions to protect farmers against climate-related risks. Sessions examined regional and socio-economic perspectives, emphasizing how climate impacts communities differently and how tailored interventions can support sustainable development. The dialogue highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing to create a climate-smart agricultural sector.

Day 2 focused on technology, digital innovation, and practical solutions to enhance resilience and productivity.
