The two-day event focused on sharing knowledge, practical solutions, and innovative approaches to safeguard agricultural production, protect livelihoods, and ensure food security across South Africa.
Day 1 centered on provincial climate change interventions and climate-smart agriculture frameworks. Experts shared strategies for adaptation, long-term climate forecasting, and insurance solutions to protect farmers against climate-related risks. Sessions examined regional and socio-economic perspectives, emphasizing how climate impacts communities differently and how tailored interventions can support sustainable development. Day 2 focused on technology, digital innovation, and practical solutions to enhance resilience and productivity. Participants examined strategies for adapting to extreme weather, protecting soil and livestock, and managing risk through proactive planning and insurance mechanisms.
