The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) launched its two-day Corporate Induction and Orientation Programme for new employees, under the theme “Building a Strong Human Capital Foundation.” The event opened with high energy and enthusiasm, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to fostering a strong and engaged workforce.

Dr. Litha Magingxa, President and CEO of the ARC, delivered an inspiring keynote address that set the tone for the programme. She highlighted the importance of unity, innovation, and continuous growth in driving the ARC’s mission forward. Dr. Magingxa encouraged new employees to embrace collaboration and creativity as key drivers for success in agricultural research and development.

The orientation programme is designed to equip new staff with a clear understanding of the ARC’s values, strategic objectives, and operational processes. Participants engaged in interactive sessions covering organisational culture, compliance, workplace policies, and professional development opportunities.

In addition to building knowledge about the ARC, the programme fosters connections among employees across departments. Networking sessions and team-building activities encouraged participants to share ideas, learn from peers, and develop a sense of belonging within the organisation.

The induction also emphasised the ARC’s focus on innovation and research excellence. Presentations on current projects, technological advancements, and ongoing research initiatives provided new employees with insight into the organisation’s contributions to South Africa’s agricultural sector.

By investing in structured orientation and development, the ARC aims to build a skilled, motivated, and unified workforce. The programme ensures that employees start their journey with the organisation equipped to contribute effectively to its mission of advancing agricultural science, supporting food security, and promoting sustainable development.

The two-day induction concluded with a commitment from all participants to uphold the ARC’s values, embrace innovation, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and growth. The event marks the beginning of a journey for new employees to thrive within one of South Africa’s leading agricultural research institutions.
