Today, the Head of Department, Mr Thupi Mokhatla, together with senior managers and Team DARD, visited the Ga-Mogopa community near Ventersdorp as part of the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole.
The initiative brings essential agricultural and rural development services directly to local communities. Officials engaged with residents to identify their needs and deliver targeted support aimed at improving livelihoods.
The department’s presence focused on providing practical solutions for small-scale farmers, including advice on crop production, livestock management, and access to government support programmes. By being on the ground, the team ensures communities can implement strategies that increase productivity, food security, and income generation.
Thuntsha Lerole demonstrates the department’s commitment to hands-on service delivery. Bringing resources and expertise directly to communities helps bridge gaps, strengthens rural development, and empowers residents to take control of their agricultural enterprises.
The visit reinforces the department’s goal of fostering sustainable growth in rural areas while ensuring that residents have the tools, knowledge, and support to improve their quality of life.
