NAMPO Harvest Day 2026 will once again provide a major platform for critical conversations around the future of South African agriculture, with Land Bank set to play a leading role in discussions on resilience, innovation, sustainability, and farmer support.

Taking place from 12–15 May 2026 in Bothaville, NAMPO remains one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the Southern Hemisphere and continues to shape conversations around the future of farming. This year’s theme, “Resilience through Innovation,” arrives at a time when farmers are facing mounting pressure from climate volatility, rising input costs, energy challenges, infrastructure constraints, and broader economic uncertainty.

As South Africa’s leading agricultural development finance institution, Land Bank says its participation reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting farmers and agribusinesses through innovative financial solutions, strategic partnerships, and practical interventions aimed at strengthening long-term sector resilience.

Over the years, Land Bank has maintained a strong presence at NAMPO, recognising the exhibition as a key opportunity to engage directly with producers, organised agriculture, policymakers, agribusinesses, and stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.

Focus on blended finance and agro-energy

On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, Land Bank’s team will host discussions under the theme “Unlocking Financial Growth: Blended Finance & Agro-Energy Solutions.”

The session will unpack how blended finance models and the Agro-Energy Fund can help farmers improve operational sustainability, reduce energy-related risks, and manage increasing production costs.

Farmers funded by Land Bank who have successfully implemented blended finance and alternative energy solutions will also share practical experiences on how these financing models are helping unlock growth opportunities while supporting sustainable agricultural production.

Strategic leadership and farmer success

On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, Land Bank’s executive leadership will facilitate a strategic industry discussion titled “Unlocking the Future: Strategic Leadership & Farmer Success.”

The session is expected to bring together key industry stakeholders and leaders from organised agriculture to discuss sector competitiveness, transformation, collaboration, and sustainable development within South African agriculture.

Representatives from organisations including Grain SA, Agri SA, AGDA, and the Free State Department of Agricultureare expected to participate in the discussions.

Insurance and climate resilience in focus

The conversation around sustainability and resilience will continue on Thursday, 14 May 2026, when Land Bank Insurance Company (LBIC) hosts discussions under the theme “Protecting Agriculture: Insurance, Risk & Resilience.”

The session will focus on the growing importance of agricultural insurance and risk management solutions in helping farmers mitigate climate-related risks, production losses, and increasing uncertainty across the sector.

Particular attention will also be given to improving access to insurance products for emerging and developing farmers, many of whom remain highly vulnerable to climate shocks and financial disruption.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Jabu Mphambo said NAMPO 2026 presents an important opportunity for meaningful engagement on the future of agriculture and the role partnerships can play in strengthening resilience across the industry.

He noted that despite increasing economic and environmental pressures, South African agriculture continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience, with innovation, collaboration, and accessible financial solutions remaining essential to strengthening food security and unlocking sustainable growth.

In addition to panel discussions, Land Bank’s participation at NAMPO 2026 will include stakeholder engagements, networking opportunities, and conversations focused on sustainability, financial inclusion, climate resilience, and agricultural innovation.

Visitors attending NAMPO Park will also be able to engage directly with Land Bank representatives and access information on agricultural finance and insurance support services at the Land Bank stand in Total Hall (Stands 6–8).
