The Stakeholder Engagement and Validation workshop concluded with a panel session focused on developing regional training for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Natural Resource Management across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The workshop aimed to strengthen sustainable agricultural systems, improve long-term capacity, and enhance institutional capabilities within member nations.

Discussions highlighted the critical role of CSA in increasing climate resilience, ensuring food security, and promoting environmentally responsible farming practices. Experts shared best practices, drew on regional experiences, and explored approaches to integrating effective training frameworks for farmers, extension officers, and policymakers.

Participants emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to support knowledge transfer and practical skills development. The workshop identified opportunities to create standardized training programs that address local environmental challenges while maintaining regional relevance.

The panel concluded that building institutional capacity is essential for implementing CSA strategies effectively. By aligning policies, sharing resources, and fostering collaboration, SADC member states can improve agricultural productivity, reduce vulnerability to climate shocks, and strengthen natural resource management across the region.

This initiative sets a foundation for ongoing capacity building, equipping stakeholders with the tools and knowledge necessary to drive sustainable agriculture and secure long-term food security in Southern Africa.
