The future of farming in Africa will take a major leap forward as MyBitSecure will unveil its pioneering Smart AgriTech and Cybersecurity platform at the Agri5 Expo 2025 in Durban.
With the launch themed “Smart Farms. Secured Futures.”, MyBitSecure will positioned itself as one of the continent’s first companies to merge Internet of Things (IoT) technologies with enterprise-grade cybersecurity — bringing connected, data-driven and secure farming to Africa’s fields.
Across Africa, agriculture is transforming from manual, legacy operations into modern, data-led systems. Yet many farms still rely on hand-operated valves, unmonitored irrigation lines and traditional soil checks, which slow down progress.
MyBitSecure’s innovation directly addresses these challenges. Its retro-fittable sensors, smart flow meters and digital dashboards connect seamlessly to existing irrigation systems, giving farmers access to real-time data without the need to rebuild from scratch.
“Our aim is to help African farmers embrace technology in a way that makes sense for their current infrastructure,” said Trevor Murimba, Founder and Agri-Cybersecurity Advisor at MyBitSecure. “The future of African agriculture is as smart as it is secure. Farmers deserve data-driven tools to optimise soil and water use, and the cybersecurity to protect their systems in a connected era.”
While many agritech companies focus on automation and analytics, MyBitSecure takes things a step further by addressing a growing threat: farm cybersecurity.
As irrigation systems, sensors and farm networks go online, they also become potential targets for cyberattacks. MyBitSecure’s integrated solution monitors connected devices, alerts farmers to unusual behaviour, and provides a “farm telemetry security” dashboard — ensuring that the same technology that boosts productivity also remains protected.
This dual emphasis on productivity and protection makes MyBitSecure a first-mover in cyber-resilient agriculture, a field gaining traction as Africa’s farming sector digitises.
At Agri5 Expo 2025, attendees should gather around the MyBitSecure stand (B02) for a live demonstration of the system in action. The setup will display a working soil moisture sensor network and cloud-based irrigation dashboard, showing real-time data across a model farm zone.
Another highlight will be the demonstration of the cybersecurity layer — a live feed showing how the system detects and responds to suspicious network activity on farm devices.
In addition, MyBitSecure will introduce its modular upgrade model, allowing farmers to adopt smart technologies in phases rather than replacing entire systems — a crucial advantage for small and medium-sized farms operating on tight budgets.
The company also confirmed that its commercial rollout will begin in early 2026, targeting farms, cooperatives and agribusinesses across South Africa and neighbouring countries.
Unlike imported systems designed for European or North American conditions, MyBitSecure’s platform is built specifically for African realities — from limited internet connectivity to legacy equipment still common across the continent.
This localisation has made the company a key voice in Africa’s smart farming conversation, championing retrofit innovation and affordable transformation rather than costly overhauls.
Farmers, water-management experts and agribusiness leaders are invited to visit MyBitSecure’s exhibit at Agri5 Expo 2025 in Durban, taking place on 30 October 2025.
Visitors can see live demonstrations, meet the development team, and explore pilot opportunities for the 2026 farming season.
