When her husband couldn’t handle dairy and her children battled eczema, Selinah Khutso Ntjana had no idea that searching for a simple solution in 2011 would change her life forever.
What started as a desperate hunt for a healthier alternative turned into a thriving goat milk farming and skincare business — and a journey of empowerment, resilience, and passion.
“I discovered goat milk while researching alternatives,” she recalls. “It changed everything — not only for our family’s health but for our future.”
From Heartbreak to Breakthrough
Before goats, Selinah’s love for farming came through her husband, Phuti, who grew up in agriculture.
“He introduced me to farming and made me fall in love with goats,” she says with a smile.
But their first attempt was far from a fairytale. A mysterious disease wiped out their herd, crushing their dream in its early days.
While her husband gave up, Selinah refused to quit.
“I went back to study and earned a certificate in profitable Boer Goat farming. I kept learning — and I never stopped.”
Her determination paid off. In 2014, the couple made a comeback, this time with knowledge, resilience, and a vision.
Goat Milk: The Family’s Miracle Ingredient
The turning point came when Selinah connected the dots between her family’s health challenges and goat milk’s benefits.
“My children had eczema, and my husband was lactose intolerant. Through research, I learned goat milk could help with sensitive skin — and it worked!” she says.
That revelation inspired her to create a full range of goat milk-based skincare products, including hand and body lotions, soaps, lip balms, scrubs, and bath salts.
“Goat milk lotion offers gentle, natural nourishment. It helped us — and now it helps others.”

Beyond Farming: Building a Legacy
But Selinah didn’t stop at skincare. She became an author, passionate about teaching and inspiring others — especially children.
Her books include:
- 🐐 Selinah The Goat — a bedtime storybook
- 📘 My Love For Goats — a beginner’s guide to goat farming
- 🎨 Farm Fun — a children’s colouring book launched in March 2024
“Creating storybooks for children about agriculture helps them connect with food, nature, and community,” she explains.
Finding Joy in the Simple Things
For Selinah, success isn’t just about profit — it’s about peace.
“Tending to my goats, making skincare, and watching the sunrise over the fields brings me joy like no other,” she says.
“I may have started as a township girl, but now I’m a proud steward of the land, living my childhood dreams.”
With her husband and five children by her side, Selinah continues to inspire others to turn adversity into opportunity — proving that sometimes, the greatest businesses are born out of love, family, and a little bit of goat milk.
