NAMPO Cape 2025 will return to Bredasdorp Park from 10 to 13 September, offering visitors a dynamic mix of agriculture, entertainment, and innovation. The expo will feature new livestock showcases, sporting events, aerial experiences, culinary attractions, and educational seminars.
Dirk Strydom, Managing Director of NAMPO (Pty) Ltd, said the event remains a key platform where tradition, innovation, and agricultural excellence converge. He highlighted that the refreshed experience connects farmers, agri-professionals, and families with the latest developments shaping South Africa’s agricultural sector.
To accommodate growing attendance, Bredasdorp Park has expanded its parking by 7 hectares to a total of 13 hectares. A new entrance near Neptun Hall will improve traffic flow and visitor access.
For the first time, the Western Cape Lubricants Arena will host tent pegging, featuring an international competition between South African and Australian teams. This fast-paced equestrian sport is expected to attract significant interest.
The Landbank Livestock Tent has been relocated and expanded next to the BKB Livestock Centre, hosting 35 exhibitors. New breeds on display include Île-de-France, Suffolk, and Persian sheep, along with Limousin and Chianina cattle.
Overberg Aviation will provide helicopter rides from 3 to 30 minutes in Bell 206 Jet Rangers or Robinson R44s, offering aerial views of the NAMPO Cape grounds and the surrounding Overberg region.
Merino SA will reintroduce the BKB Merino Classic on 11 and 12 September after a three-year break, with over 300 entries from stud and commercial farmers. The BKB National Merino Fleece Show will also debut, showcasing top-quality Merino wool.
For the first time, on-site tented accommodation will be available for up to 150 guests, offering exclusive parking, 24/7 security, a chill tent, and dedicated ablutions. Bookings require a minimum four-night stay through Antionette Events.
The South African Boerboel Breeders’ Society will host its Western Cape Championship on 13 September, with 100 Boerboels competing. Visitors can meet breeders and learn more about this iconic South African breed in the Landbank Livestock Tent.
The former Neptun Hall has been transformed into the Neptun Deli, featuring wine, dried fruit, olives, and artisanal products, while the Napier Garden Café remains open for refreshments.
NAMPO Cape 2025 will also host strategic sessions for farmers and industry leaders, with participation from Grain SA, Vinpro, the Red Meat Producers’ Organisation, and the Milk Producers Organisation. SA Studbook will lead discussions on breeding excellence in dairy, beef, and small stock.
The expo will feature a specialised seminar on Protected Vegetable Production, covering sustainable water management, soilless farming, integrated pest and disease control, precision farming, and greenhouse technology.
Henk Aggenbach, Chairperson of Bredasdorp Park NPC, said the upgrades and additions reflect the ideas and needs of the farming community. NAMPO Cape 2025 is set to offer an engaging, educational, and memorable experience for visitors, strengthening its position as a premier agricultural expo in South Africa.
